NOTIFICATION FOR ADMISSION TO UNDER GRADUATE COURSES- 2010-11
Applications in prescribed form are invited from the candidates for admission to 1st yr. B.Sc.(Ag.)Hons. and B.Sc.(Hort.)Hons. courses for the session 2010-2011.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Candidates for B.Sc.(Ag.) Hons. /B.Sc. (Hort.) Hons. Course must have passed Higher Secondary in General Stream or equivalent examination with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology or in Vocational stream with English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Ag. Biology and any two of the following subject: Ag-Hort practices, Floriculture, Cultivation/Preservation and processing of fruits and veg., plant protection, Crop Cultivation and Horticulture. In all the cases the candidates must have secured at least 50% marks in aggregate( i.e. maximum two languages of which one must be English + Physics + Chemistry + Biology/Ag Biology) in H.S. or equivalent examination which is relaxable up to 40% marks in case of Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Physically handicapped candidates. Candidates having proficiency in Sports and Games may also apply for admission to B.Sc (Ag.)Hons. course only, provided they have the above qualification and must have passed Higher Secondary or equivalent examination with above subjects and having at least 50% marks. The reservation of seats as per Govt. declared policy will be followed for specific type of physically handicapped individuals who full fill the minimum physical fitness, essential to take theory and practical courses. Candidates desirous to be considered under Sports Quota for B.Sc.(Ag.)Hons. course only must apply separately in prescribed application form. Candidates shall have to enclose following documents along with the application for admission to any of the courses. Incomplete applications if any will be rejected straightway.
(a) Attested copy of income certificate of parent/guardian issued by the employer in case of those who are under employment or the same issued by the competent authority in case of those who are under self-employment.
(b) Attested copy of below poverty level certificate, if any, issued by the Govt. of West Bengal in favour of parent.
(c) Attested copy of Voter’s Identity Card issued by the Election Commission in favour of the candidate or his parent.
(d) Certificate from the Headmaster /Principal stating subject wise total marks obtained by the applicant in Higher Secondary/qualifying Examination.
(e) Attested copy of medical certificate from proper authority for physically handicapped persons.
(f) Attested copy of SC/ST certificate from proper authority.
(g) Attested copies of sports proficiency certificates (at least inter district level) from proper authority.
(h) Attested copies of Mark-sheets & Admit card of all examination passed.
* Photocopies of both sides of the above testimonials in A-4 size paper, duly attested by the concerned authority should be attached..
AGE: Candidate must have been born on or before 1.6.1993. The medium of instruction is English.

Minimum eligibility for consideration under Sports Quota: Representation of District at Inter District level or equivalent tournaments in Football/Cricket/Table Tennis/Volley ball/Badminton/ Athletics organised by the District Sports Association or similar other organization is required for admission to B.Sc.(Ag.) Hons. Course only. Certificates from the proper authority in the prescribed proforma in the Application forms and Xerox copy of District players’ Identity Card should be enclosed along with the Application.
Residential requirement: Residing in the Hostel is compulsory. But any one can be a day scholar if he/she resides within 15 Km distance from the Mohanpur campus.
Medical fitness:-The candidates must be of good health and capable of undertaking extensive fieldwork. The selected candidates will be required to undergo a medical examination by the University appointed doctors before admission,failing in medical test will lead to cancellation for admission.
The Prospectus along with Application forms may be obtained either personally from the Office of the Registrar,(Admission and Scholarship Section), BCKV, Mohanpur, Dt. Nadia, between 11.00 A.M. and 4.00 P.M. on all working days except SUNDAYS, SATURDAYS and HOLIDAYS on payment of Rs. 300=00 (for general/physically handicapped candidates and the candidates applying under sports quota) and Rs.200=00 (Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates) in cash, or by post by sending a self-addressed stamped (Rs.60=00) envelope (30 cm x 25 cm) superscribed with the words “Admission to B.Sc.(Ag.)Hons./B.Sc.(Hort.) Hons. Courses” along with a Crossed Demand Draft for the amount as mentioned above payable to BIDHAN CHANDRA KRISHI VISWAVIDYALAYA at State Bank of India, Kalyani Branch, Code-1082. Application form can also be downloaded from the Viswavidyalaya website (www.bckv.edu.in) in a paper (A-4 size 8½^^x11^^ colour- White; thickness- 85 GSM). In that case the cost of forms through Crossed Demand Draft (as mentioned above) may please be attached at the time of submission of application forms, without which application form shall be treated as cancelled. Admission notice shall not be issued individually to the candidates. The merit list along with admission schedule will appear in the Notice Board of the Admission and Scholarship Section at Mohanpur Campus on the 25th day after publication of the H.S. result of West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education for the year 2010. The dates of admission will be published in the Newspaper (The Statesman, The Ananda Bazar Patrika & Ganashakti Patrika of Kolkata edition). The admission will be made only on the basis of merit list.

Application forms duly filled in and completed in all respect should reach the office of the Registrar (ADMISSION & SCHOLARSHIP SECTION),Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya, P.O. Krishiviswavidyalaya (Mohanpur),Dist. Nadia, PIN – 741252, W. Bengal, within 15 days from the date of publication of the result of the H.S. Examination of West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education for the year 2010. The applications received after the closing date will not be entertained.
Admission to 1st year B.Tech.(Ag.Engg.)Hons.Course under Faculty of Agricultural Engineering will be made through West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination 2010.
