Status of university farm ponds

Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya has more than 30 number of water bodies with the area coverage of 41.8 acres with the control of Directorate of Farms. These water bodies are spread out in different places of south Bengal from Kakdwip to Purulia covering 3 distinctive agro-climates like Coastal saline, New alluvial and  Red & Laterite zones of West Bengal. Among the water bodies, 26 ponds spread out in 13 farms and 4 ponds are in main campus.
