List of Awareness Programme:

The credibility of this department is on the rise as we are able to perform few advanced diagnostic test such as:

• BONE INDEX DETERMINATION
• LUNG FUNCTION TEST (SPIROMETRY)
• DETECTION OF PHERIPHERAL VASCULAR DISEASES
• BONE MINERAL DENSITY DETERMINATION

Apart from that, a number of awareness programmes is organized by the Health Centre on different medical topics where eminent doctors are invited to deliver lectures and share their valuable opinion with the students and staff members of this university. To be mentioned:

• Lecture on Eye care – Dr. D. Bhattacharjee Disha Hospital
• Lecture on Stroke – Dr. A. K. Bhattarcharjee (Neurologist)
• Lecture on Diabetes/Hypertension – Dr. D. Basu (Cardiologist)

In view of upgrading the' Health Unit' as well as providing basic and advanced medical facilities to the students, it is utmost necessary to have an additional support of grants from the ICAR for below mentioned requirements:

Future Plan of the Department :

A) DIRECT ALLOTMENT OF ICAR FUND under head of Account – MEDICAL for the health of students.

ONE TIME GRANT:

• Renovation of the existing old building
• Centralized AC of the whole medical unit
• Purchasing of :
  • Pulse Oxymeter
  • IFT instrument
  • Cell counter
  • Fowlers bed
  • Cardiac monitor

B) REGULAR contingency /yearly for :

• Medical consultancies (once a week basis)
• In different specialties like:
• General medicine
• Cardiology
• Pulmonology
• General surgery
• Orthopedic
• Gynecology
• Ophthalmic checkup
• ENT consultancy
• Dental checkup
• Dermatology

• Technician (on contractual basis) to run the various advance equipments.
• Trained nursing staff for observation unit.
• Medicines for students care.
• Materials (chemical, reagents, X-Ray plates, ECG rolls, surgical goods)
• Fund required for annual maintenance charge of medical equipments.
