Works department is an engineering department which was established since inception of Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya situated at Mohanpur, Dist. Nadia, headed by the University Engineer and supported by Estimator, Sub-Assistant Engineer (Civil & Electrical) with a group of technical field staff of different categories and office staffs.

Throughout the year, this department is engaged with various infrastructural development works under ICAR Development grant, State Government Grant under RKVY Project & RIDF Project etc. including repair, refurbishing and maintenance of the existing structures situated at the different places of B.C.K.V. with the allotted fund as received from State Government and ICAR time to time. Additionally, this department is also engaged with day to day maintenance work (civil and electrical) with the departmental field staff successfully.

So, this engineering department has a important role to achieve great part of development for the University as well as to share responsibility in case of running the entire establishment smoothly by supplying power supply, water supply etc. properly with the help of departmental skill.
