Achievements of the Department

    • Book Release
    • Dr.Daulat Singh Memorial Extension Education Excellence Award
    • Started in 1962 under the aegis of Kalyani University and, subsequently, evolved as a full-fledged department under Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya, Department of Agricultural Extension has been contributing to the domain of applied and theoretical Extension Science, along and across the disciplines and specializations.
    • Communication, Rural Sociology, Research Methodology, Transfer of Technology, Agricultural Management, Development theories and Participatory Extension Methodology, Gender Empowerment and Social Ecology have been the thrust areas for teaching, research and practical extension learning for both the UG and PG Students.

BOOK PUBLICATIONS:

 

        • More than 20 test books (as per ICAR syllabus).
        • Above 110 reference books have been authored by the Department faculties and some scholars, 53 co-authors.
        • So far 595 research papers since 1962 have been published by the Department in National and international journals bearing peer reviewed, IF and NAAS rating status.
        • The Department of Agriculture Extension has been unique and outstanding by organizing nine Winter/Summer school (sponsored by ICAR) in the respective years: 2001, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2011, 2012, 2014 and 2016.
        • Publication in International Journals (20) with high impact factor covering Springer Nature, Taylor & Francis, Elsivier, CRC, NOVA.
        • The department has been glorious by organizing one National Seminar and one International Conference in 2014 and 2016 respectively

        : More then 60(sixty) reference books have been published,out of the research work carried out by the department.

      • The Departmental teachers,have been recognized as National and International level experts in the field of ‘Participatory Planning’, ‘Participatory Monitoring and Evaluation’, ‘Gender Analysis in Development’, ‘Capacity Building’ by different development and Research Organization of repute.
      • Professor M.M.Adhiakry has been awarded ‘Life time Achievement’ in Extension Education from ISEE. Prof .D.Basu, Prof.S.K.Acharya and Prof.J.K.Das got award as ‘Distinguished Scientist’ from Krishi Sanskrit, New Delhi.
      • Teachers of the department take part actively in numerous extension programmes for the bebefit of the farmers.
      • Best Ph.D. thesis award from MANAGE in 2021.
      • Prof.D.Basu and Prof.S.K.Acharya have been awarded ISEE fellow.
      • Prof.D.Basu has got ISEE Recognition Award.
