One hundred eighty eight (187) PG students and fifty five (59) d. students have successfully completed M. Sc. (Hort.) and Ph.D. programme, respectively, in Fruit Science since its establishment.
The department is maintaining of germplasm of different fruit crops : 34 in mango, 15 in litchi, 28 in guava, 15 in ber, 10 in jackfruit, 5 in wax apple and different species of citrus (sweet orange, lemon and pummelo), minor fruit species and temperate fruit crops (apple, peach, pear, plum, persimmon, almond, apricot, cherry, pecan nut etc.).
In addition, 145 germplasm of mango, 160 in banana, 100 in jackfruit, 10 in guava, 6 in Safeda and 50 species of minor fruit crops are being maintained by the ICAR-AICRPon Fruits at Mondouri.
Department is providing a revenue of 8-10 lacs (approx.) in each year from the produce of fruit crops at HRS, Mondouri.
The Departmental teachers have undertaken 38 adhoc-projects (including ongoing) funded by ICAR, UGC, APEDA, DST and State Govt.
