Sixty three (63) PG students and sixteen (17) Ph.d. students have successfully completed M. Sc. (Hort.) and Ph.D. programme, respectively, in Fruit Science during last 5 years (2016-20).
The department is maintaining of germplasm of different fruit crops : 34 in mango, 15 in litchi, 28 in guava, 15 in ber, 10 in jackfruit, 5 in wax apple and different species of citrus (sweet orange, lemon and pummelo), minor fruit species and temperate fruit crops (apple, peach, pear, plum, persimmon, almond, apricot, cherry, pecan nut etc.).
In addition, 145 germplasm of mango, 159 in banana, 59 in jackfruit, 10 in guava, 6 in Safeda and 50 species of minor fruit crops are being maintained by the ICAR-AICRP at Mondouri.
Department is providing a revenue of 8-10 lacs (approx.) in each year from the produce of fruit crops at HRS, Mondouri.
The Departmental teachers have undertaken 37 adhoc-projects (including ongoing) funded by ICAR, UGC, APEDA, DST and State Govt.
