In case of litchi, maximum yield was recorded in square system of planting while yield/ha was noted maximum in double hedge row system. Maximum fruit weight, fruit length, TSS with minimum acidity was obtained from square planting system.
Training of litchi plants with central leader system was found maximum plant growth while minimum was recorded in open vase system. As regards to fruit yield, it was recorded maximum in open vase system.
Maximum yield was obtained when pruning of litchi plants were imposed on fruits harvested with 50 cm long branches. Maximum TSS and minimum acidity were obtained from fruits harvested with 75 cm long branches + removal of new flushes in the month of November – December.
Spraying of carbaryl or thiomethaxam at field doses is effective in controlling litchi leaf roller during emergence of new flushes is recommended
