  • Rice -- lady's finger/ greengram / greengram+lady's finger (3:2) / greengram+sunflower (4:2)

Sustainable cropping system for problematic Coastal Saline Zone of West Bengal

  • Higher system rice equivalent yield (18754 kg/ha/yr), system NR (Rs.149895/ha) and B:C ratio (2.21) were obtained from rice-potato-jute sequence under reduced tillage, application of mulch (rice straw) and 125% RDF

High potential Bio-Intensive Complementary Systems as Alternative to Rice-Rice:

  • Pointed gourd+elephant foot yam -- pointed gourd+garlic -- Net Return Rs.3,72,397/ha
  • Okra -- Cauliflower - Raddish+ Amaranthus - French bean -- Net Return Rs. 2,39,933/ha

Integrated nutrient supply system of paddy-wheat sequence of cropping

  • 50% RDF through fertilizers+ 50% N through Green leaf manure or FYM to rice and 100% to wheat

Development of organic farming package for system based high value crops

  • 1/3rd of RDN each from FYM, Vermicompost and Neem Cake + Intercropping of coriander with potato (1:1), okra with groundnut (2:3). Sequence

Development of Integrated Farming system Model for small and marginal farmers:

  • Farming system model of agriculture +dairy+horticulture+biogas +vermicompost+fishery in 0.66 ha area has been developed

  • Crop+Dairy+Poultry system provided net return of Rs.99,289 with the investment of Rs.5523/.

Diversification of existing Cropping System and Farming Systems under marginal household conditions
(Conducted in 24 nos. farmers' field and 9 farming systems 9)

  • Rice-lady's finger system recorded the highest system yield and net return
  • The highest net return due to intervention (Rs.) was achieved in the system Crop+Dairy+Poultry+Gotary+Fishery provided net return of Rs. 54,126/- with the investment of Rs.5893/- from holding size of 0.59 ha
  • Crop+Dairy+Poultry+Fishery system provided net return of Rs.45,979 with the investment of Rs.5631.
